LMS IN HISTORY 

The idea to establish this society was faith to organized group work & team spirit to form a harbor gathering marine experts in Libya to be a national support & a permanent forum to accompany the national & international developments.

At the beginning of 2003 Mr. Ahmad K. Bredan adopted the idea & presented it some well known marine experts as follows:

Captain Salah El Hadi Aljamal , Captain Ali Abu Baker El Mejrab , Mr Husni Ebrahiem Bey , Captain Omar F. Fanoush , Mr Abdul Hakeem M. Ben Khaleel , Chief Eng. Ali AbuBaker El Helue & Mr Ali A. Faraj.

These gentlemen met to study the possibilities & discuss the procedures for a scientific body to accompany the national & international developments , agreed to establish this society & support Mr Ahmad K. Bredan to proceed with necessary steps.

Eventually ; a permit No 76 / 2006 was given by a decree No 44 of the director of The National Bureau For Research & Development at The General People’s Committee .
An opening ceremony was held on 29/3/2006 in Tripoli to announce the decree , to explain about the society’s activities & objectives & an election concluded on approval of the current board.

This society is anon-profit organization with the following goals & objectives :

• Support the maritime sector to adopt functional & ethical criteria to the activities of the sector & protect the reputation of the sector as a unique quality service center .

• Cooperating & exchanging views with the local legislative & executive authorities & other organizations in issues related to the sector .
